Original Wheatstone Concertina produced around 1850. 24 Chromatic left / right changing buttons on both sides.
The Concertina was invented in 1827 by Charles Wheatstone, who had inherited a tool factory. The first type was named "English Concertina" - later followed constructions of other types. This is a popular type, supposedly suitable for "ear play". It is made at the Wheatstone plant in London and is - despite the name - diatonic. The instrument belonged to the "Pied Piper" (we do not know his real name), who toured in Denmark and Sweden with his rat circus - by bicycle!
